Class scheduling
Scheduling turns a weekly pattern, such as "Monday and Thursday at 6 pm", into a full calendar of sessions for a class. It also decides when people can join, ends sessions that don't happen, and reminds everyone before class.
Step by step
- 01
The admin creates the class during onboarding. They choose the students, the tutor, the days and start times, and how long each session lasts.
- 02
The platform generates every session for the class from that pattern. Times are set in India time.
- 03
The tutor keeps their weekly availability up to date, so that later moves and reschedules only land on times they can teach.
- 04
Students see their upcoming sessions under My Classrooms › Live Lectures and can press Add to Calendar to put them in Google Calendar or any calendar app.
- 05
Reminders go out 24 hours before, 1 hour before and at start time. A WhatsApp, SMS or email reminder goes out about 30 minutes before.
- 06
The join button appears 30 minutes before class. The tutor can start from 15 minutes before, and the waiting lobby opens at the same time.
- 07
The class goes live once the tutor and at least one student are in. Students can't enter the room before the tutor starts it.
- 08
If anyone needs to change the timetable later, the admin edits it: change the weekly pattern, shift all upcoming sessions, move one session, cancel or restore one, or add a one-off session.
How it works
Two ways to create a class
Create class is the quick path for a single one-to-one student. It defaults to 8 weeks (1–24 allowed) of 60-minute sessions (15–240 minutes allowed).
Onboard classroom handles one-to-one or group classes with many students. The admin gives a start and end date and the total number of classes, and sessions default to 90 minutes.
Edits never break links
When a session is moved, renamed or resized, the platform updates the existing session instead of deleting it and making a new one. The class link, recording and attendance stay attached to the session through every change. The tutor can also rename, move or resize a single session from their side.
Late tutors still deliver the full class
If the tutor joins late, the class runs for its full booked length, counted from whichever is later: the scheduled start or the moment the tutor joined.
Sessions that don't happen are closed automatically
Tutor never arrives
Cancels the class 15 minutes after start
One-to-one student never arrives
Ends the class 15 minutes after start; the tutor is still paid in full
Everyone has left after the booked time
Ends the class after 5 minutes
Only one person left in a started class
Ends the class after 10 minutes
Tutor availability
Tutors publish weekly open hours as slots of 30 to 180 minutes, on a grid of at least 15 minutes (30 by default). Rescheduling and the admin slot finder use these hours, minus anything already booked and any approved leave.
